One of the historical problems when considering flood protection into a building has been to develop a passive solution for impaired and disabled access that is also compliant to Part M, section 4, (2) and (3) of the UK building code.
Over the past 2 years, M3’s R&D unit have been developing a flood protection low threshold door in Composite and UPVC both inward and outward openings and have now achieved KitemarkTM Certification to BS851188-part1 2021. This is the first fully tested Low threshold flood door to achieve this standard in the world.
The new Defender range of Low Threshold flood doors with UK Patent Application No. 2210123.2 are now offered across the product portfolio as BS KitemarkTM Certified flood doors using any of the current composite and UPVC door slabs, at a cost that is not only affordable, but as a passive solution, once the door is closed the permanent flood protection is in place.
