The Problem
Having experienced one serious flood event, and with access to the college down a steep drive way, surface water flooding from the main road above posed a potential flood risk to the main college entrance, as well as to the plant rooms and sports area.
To divert the possible flows away from these areas 3 sustainable Timber Gates were installed - 1 at 4.0m wide and 2 at 2.0m wide integral to a new flood wall at 1.0m high. The gates, all single leaf units, were manufactured from Accoya, an engineered soft wood with a clear coat of Osma for lasting protection.
