The Problem
Located in East Yorkshire this property suffered years of damp beneath the floorboards as heavy rainfall build up seeped into the floor void through open airbricks.
Poor drainage around the property meant that the ground could not absorb heavy rainfall such that it built up against the building walls and flooded into the under floor void through the Airbricks around the house. Once inside the slow evaporation of the excess water caused damp and threatened the lifespan of the timber flooring.
Because the building had several different sizes of airbrick the M3 Floodtec proposed deployable Airbrick covers seated with 2 fixings in each brick. The fixing bolt sleeves remain in permanent position once initially installed so that the covers could be readily installed in the event of heavy rain.
Works were completed in March 2021.
